I feel extremely proud to say I am the Headteacher of Westley Middle School. We have been talking at school about how all students and staff should feel proud to be part of such a wonderful school. I want students to be proud of each piece of work they complete; feel proud to wear their smart uniform and be proud of any activity they take part throughout their journey here. It is just the start of my journey as Head of Westley, but I have quickly got a sense of being part of a special team. I look forward to leading this team, building on all the strengths that are already in place and developing on the areas that need to improve.
To do this I look forward to working with staff, students, parents, and governors. We are in the fortunate position of working with Horringer Court, County Upper and Tollgate to offer an all through education model and I am also relishing the opportunity to work with the other schools in Unity Schools Partnership. By being an outward facing and open-minded school, we can work with experts in education to make sure our students get the best possible learning experience.
Having worked in a middle school for twelve years earlier in my career, I know the benefits of having subject specialists teaching a wide and balanced curriculum. Middle schools offer a fantastic environment for youngsters to achieve academically, grow as a whole person and experience a variety of experiences outside the classroom.
I look forward to meeting you all soon and working together to make sure Westley Middle School continues to move forwards and remains at the heart of the local community.
