Catch-Up Premium Funding
Covid-19 Catch-Up Premium
Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). Those from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds will be among those hardest hit. The government has announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all students make up for lost teaching time.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, we have hired tutors through both the National Tutoring Programme and the School-led tutoring program to support many of our KS2 pupils in getting caught up for the lost time over the past two years due to the pandemic.
Please click on the attached document to view information about our Coronavirus catch up premium strategy.
We measure the impact of any catch-up strategies by looking carefully at progress data with our Heads of English and Maths and evaluate our approaches. This is augmented termly via Pupil Progress Meetings with teachers which tracks and aims to overcome barriers to learning.
